none of the nice sedans or wagons, rather some bloated thingies such as :
3008 :
5008 :
and a CUV’d version of the 308, with plastic clad and all :
(regular 308 shown here)
Je suis decu, Peugeot ...

Well, bloated thingies are all we buy here in the States, so I can’t really blame them.

I’d be fine with that if they brought their EV models over, bloated or not.

Maybe they will get brave and bring a true hatchback. Still, this is better than your sundry Nissan Rogues, but I'm disappointed we don't get any real French weirdness. And exactly no one will buy them, like Alfa.

Is Peugeot Mopar?

Could be the next Kia.
There are tons of Alfa SUV on the road in close to base trim. Almost no Alfa Romeo cars ( with hood bolted down or other sales points completely overlooked by the muscle car fraternity).

Interesting, if St ellantis (still sounds terrible if you ask me...) were planning to bring over European crossovers, you’d think they might bring them as Chryslers so that Chrysler could have more than two cars as a brand. But from the article it sounds like they want to spin up a whole new dealer network for this. Maybe they are shooting for a Scion-style “cars for young people” approach and they think they need different branding and marketing for that?

Well, the Dodge Omni was also the Talbot Horizon, back in the days, part of the Peugeot group at some point. Time is a flat circle ...

That would make a lot of sense, use two already established brands that consumers are familiar with. But, they might be trying to play up a "French chic" image, like cosmetics companies, or looking for more of a clean slate (Peugeot was last sold here so long ago, it might as well have been never).

Alfas of any kind are rare but I’ve seen more of a 50 /50 split between Giul ias and Stelvios. And no Quadrofoglios on the road. Sad.

I’ve heard that people buy cars that remind them of themselves...
And the stereotypical American isn’t particularly slim...

Love it or hate, it certainly is different. Although we can all agree the toggle switches are the best.
